Aggregation of electricity supply plans
Comprehensively grasping and evaluating of supply-demand balance for the next ten years
In a supply plan, we aggregate the plans summarizing the electricity supply, development of power plants, power grids, and other matters for the next ten years submitted by electric power companies, and we grasp the basic information on supply and demand across the country and check the appropriateness of the development, suspension, and decommissioning of power sources and the development and replacement of power transmission lines.
Based on the result of the demand forecast published every January, the OCCTO studies and implements the necessary measures (additional procurement of supply capacity etc.) to ensure a stable supply in cooperation with the national government and general power transmission and distribution companies when it is considered necessary in light of the need for a stable supply.
We send the aggregated results to the government by the end of March every year. At that time, we attach opinions on the issues extracted through the aggregation process to contribute to the study of the securing of a stable supply and the necessary institutional measures that are needed.
