Key roles of the OCCTO

Supply-demand adjustment/Grid operation

Supply-demand adjustment/Grid operation

We achieve a stable supply of electricity by monitoring the supply-demand situations and operational status of grids across the nation and by giving instructions to the relevant companies when the supply-demand balance gets worse. In addition, we study and design the supply-demand balancing market and other schemes in detail in order to procure and operate the balancing capacity more efficiently.

Conversion to the next-generation electric power network

Conversion to the next-generation electric power network

We take the lead in the promotion of fair, impartial, and effective use of power transmission and distribution facilities and in the development and renovation of cross-regional interconnected grids in order to contribute to the efforts to make renewable energy a primary energy source and to reinforce the resilience of electric power systems.

Securing of supply capacity for a stable supply

Securing of supply capacity for a stable supply

In order to establish a system to secure and use the supply capacity necessary for a stable supply for the medium-to-long term at the lowest possible cost, we study, design in detail, and operate the market schemes and systems to trade the values of power sources.
