Update:04/01/2016

Temporary Suspention of JEPX Hour Ahead Market by Failure of Communication Function

The trade in JEPX Hour Ahead Market was temporary suspended from 22:00 yesterday night
because of a failure of communication function between OCCTO and Japan Electricity Power
Exchange (JEPX).
Abnormal operation of part program of Cross-regional Operation System, which transfers the
data between OCCTO and JEPX, caused this event. This failure was solved at 06:21 today, and
the trade was resumed at 06:30.
The other functions of Cross-regional Operation System are in normal operation, and the
supply-demand monitoring function has been receiving the data from Central Load Dispatching
Centers of all General Transmission and Distribution Companies since 0:00 on April 1 as planned.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience we have caused. As a lesson learned from this
problem, we will take every possible measures in this regard.
This event does not disrupt the stable electricity supply to all consumers, also does not affect
the free selection of retail companies.
