Instructions for Supply-Demand State Improvement
Today, OCCTO has issued the instruction shown below to improve the supply-demand state in the regional service area of Hokkaido Electric Power Co., Inc. pursuant to Paragraph 1 of Article 28-44 of Electricity Business Act.
1. Members received instruction
- Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc.
- TEPCO Power Grid, Inc.
- Hokkaido Electric Power Co., Inc.
2. Date, Time of Issuance and Contents of Instruction
September 7th, 2018 at 22:36
- Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. shall supply electricity of 200,000kW to Hokkaido Electric Power Co., Inc. from 0:00 to 24:00 on 8th of September.
- TEPCO Power Grid, Inc. shall supply electricity of 400,000kW to Hokkaido Electric Power Co., Inc. from 0:00 to 24:00 on 8th of September.
- Hokkaido Electric Power Co., Inc. shall receive electricity of 600,000kW from Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. and TEPCO Power Grid, Inc. from 0:00 to 24:00 on 8th of September.
3. Background of Issuance
Significant supply capacity has been lost in the regional service area of Hokkaido Electric Power Co., Inc. due to Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake occurred on 6th of September, 2018. To restore and maintain electricity supply of the area, cross-regional power interchange shall be needed.
